Eloquent · LEGAL
Terms of Service
Effective: August 9, 2026
These terms govern your use of Eloquent. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live requires parental consent at an older age, your parent or guardian must consent to your use of Eloquent.
2. Service
Eloquent provides vocabulary practice, spaced repetition, progress tracking, and pronunciation audio. Features may change as the service develops. Generated definitions, examples, and learning recommendations can contain errors and are provided for educational use, not as professional advice.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information, keep your password confidential, and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not create accounts through automated means or impersonate another person.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Eloquent unlawfully; access another user’s data; probe, disrupt, or overload the service; bypass security or usage limits; introduce malware; scrape the service at scale; or use app content in a way that infringes another person’s rights.
5. Intellectual property
The app, branding, and service materials are owned by Eloquent or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These terms grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service. Third-party content remains subject to its respective owner’s rights.
6. Your learning data
You retain rights you have in the information you provide. You allow us to process your account, preferences, and learning progress only as needed to operate and improve Eloquent, enforce these terms, and comply with law. The Privacy Policy provides more detail.
7. Account deletion and suspension
You can delete your account in Settings at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these terms, create security risk, or use the service unlawfully. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
8. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Eloquent is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or that learning content is complete or error-free. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Eloquent will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the service. Local law may give you additional rights.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date identifies the latest version. If a material change requires notice or consent, we will provide it through the app or another appropriate channel. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised terms.
